Director Promo Music Services, NBC Universal Television Music.
For the last 5+ years, Janine has been the Director of Promo Music Services for NBC Universal Television Music in Los Angeles. NBC brought her in to create and oversee a sub-dept within Music Services, specifically for Promos and their music needs. Janine is the music supervisor for the U.S. on-air promo teams for NBC, Bravo, USA, Syfy, Oxygen, News Sports & Entertainment. She works on a daily basis with promo producers, NBCU Execs and oversees Promo Music budgets, meeting their needs creatively and financially and works closely with a variety of record labels, music publishers, artists, composers and production music libraries. Janine comes from Melbourne, Australia, arriving in LA in late 1993, where she shopped the Mushroom catalog to film and TV, also worked for Tina Arena and Sonia Dada. After winning her greencard in the greencard lottery, Janine held the position of Associate Director of Film & TV Licensing at Sony/ATV Music Publishing for 5 years. In Australia, Janine worked for Mushroom Records & Mushroom Music Publishing, starting out as PA to Simon Young in Business Affairs. After Simon realized she couldn't make coffee, she founded the Film & TV Licensing Dept for the Mushroom Group. She also ran Picture This Music, a label for film & TV soundtracks, which won an AFI and ARIA for Romper Stomper soundtrack, Russell Crowe's first breakthrough film into the US. Along with all sorts of 3rd party compilations, premium packages, advertising campaigns, commercial and tie-ins. Prior to Mushroom, Janine was the founding Editor of Beat Magazine. And way before, worked at EMI Records in Melbourne while managing a band called The Pony and worked at J. Walter Thompson Advertising for a couple of years.
