Brett Cottle
Brett Cottle is the Chief Executive of Australasian Performing Right Association Limited (APRA), a position held since July 1990. APRA represents over 60,000 songwriters, composers and music publishers in Australia and New Zealand. In 1997 APRA entered into a management arrangement with the Australasian Mechanical Copyright Owners Society (AMCOS), following which Brett took on the AMCOS CEO role in addition to APRA responsibilities. From December 1994 until April 1999 Brett held the position of Chairman of the Asia-Pacific Committee of CISAC (International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers). In 2000 he was appointed Vice Chairman of the Executive Bureau of CISAC; in 2006 Acting Chairman of the Board of Directors of CISAC, and in 2007 appointed Chairman.
Brett is a Director of the Australian Copyright Council and a past member of the Copyright Law Review Committee. Brett is on the Board of Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Limited, a music therapy charity organisation, and was Chair from May 2008 until September 2009.
