Ed St John

Ed St John has been a proud participant in the Australian music industry since 1977, when he started his career as a reporter for Rolling Stone Magazine. This ushered in a 15-year run as one of Australia’s most prolific and opinionated music writers. During the 80s Ed also produced a number of music TV shows. In 1993 Ed started work at Sony music, a career choice that led to leadership positions with two major record companies (Managing Director of BMG, CEO of Warner Music) whilst concurrently serving ten year stints as a member of the ARIA and PPCA boards. Ed was Chairman of the ARIA Awards for a decade and Chairman of ARIA for two years. Since leaving Warner Music in 2010, Ed works as a board advisor and media consultant. He selected and booked the Coaches and mentors for Nine’s smash hit TV show The Voice and is currently engaged booking star talent for several new programs.
