Danny Widdicome

Danny Widdicombe was the winner of the 2010 Grant McLennan Memorial Fellowship, which enabled him to travel to Berlin to write and perform. He was also shortlisted in the 2011 APRA Professional Development Awards along with only a handful of Australia’s top songwriters. Apart from being a published songwriter and a two time ARIA award nominee with his band The Wilson Pickers, Danny has proudly played lead guitar for Bernard Fanning, Catherine Britt, Andrew Morris and Karl Broadie, as well as touring the country as part of Tim Rogers’ Temperance Union.

Danny released his third solo album Find Someone in October 2011 after his tour of Europe was cut short by a severe relapse of leukaemia. His first solo album The Transplant Tapes was a musical document of his triumphant battle against leukaemia and his last album Dominoes has received rave reviews nationally.
