Robert Horsfall

Robert Horsfall has worked as a music industry lawyer for 30 years at two leading law firms, Theodore Goddard & Co and Lee & Thompson. He was the in-house lawyer at London Records and most recently, at Sound Advice. In the past, Robert has represented household names such as David Bowie, Rolling Stones, Robbie Williams, All Saints and Charlotte Church.

Robert has written extensively on legal issues within the music business, including editing the IAEL Back to the Future book in 2004 and contributing to the 2009 IAEL book on 360º deals. He has contributed to numerous conferences including In The City, Midem and by Larm in Norway. Robert also founded and now hosts the industry forum, Chat®oom.

Robert currently concentrates exclusively on representing creative talent.

This broad set of skills allows Robert to work with managers in a ‘business management’ capacity.

There are many overseas clients too – from Norway (Katzenjammer and Jarle Bernhoft) to Belgium (School is Cool) to India (Raghu Dixit) to Australia (John Butler Trio, Gurrumul, Sarah Blasko and INXS). The teams operate across all genres including classical, world and folk.
