Prior to joining the International Confederation of Music Publishers (ICMP) in 2008, Ger Hatton advised the European Commission and the World Bank on public policy for the Governments of Samoa, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan and Poland.

She spent ten years with the Ogilvy Mather group as Director of Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide and advised governments on a wide range of positioning strategies from privatisation to judicial reform.

Ger served successive terms with AFS, as President and Chair of the Board of Directors of EFIL, the European Federation for Intercultural Learning. Since joining ICMP, Ger has grown the organisation and implemented a global advocacy programme – repositioning the confederation as the worldwide trade association representing the interests of music publishers internationally.
