Clare Bowditch

Clare Bowditch is a musician, writer, creativity-coach and sometimes actor, who stars as ‘Rosanna’ on Channel 10’s Offspring. Her top ten album ‘Modern Day Addiction’ will be followed in August 2012 by her fifth as-yet-untitled album.

Clare’s been Rolling Stone Woman of the Year (Contribution to Culture), ARIA’s Best Female Artist, Yen Young Woman of the Year, and recently scored the popular-vote EG Female Artist of the Year award. She is “stoked” to have co-written many (half-finished) songs with Gotye, Lanie Lane, Missy Higgins, Tim Harvey, Paul Dempsey and Bernard Fanning. And yes, everything you’ve heard about Clare and Leonard Cohen is true.

As the mother of three young children, Clare’s hair and house are often, like, “totally unkempt”: she’s ok with that! She shares her domestic/creative life with Manager/musician Marty Brown: together, they’ve been making their living as full-time artists in a small market (Australia) for over a decade.

Clare is also a member of the Music Victoria Board, a proud ambassador for APRA and PPCA, and a Contemporary Music Rep for the Music Council of Australia. She has spent 2012 coaching fellow artists and creative-entrepreneurs about how to make the world a FAR better place by making their living doing the things they love: she’s been teaching similar things at community houses since 2003, and she’s still MAD for it!.
