Andrew Jenkins

Andrew Jenkins is Executive Vice President Asia Pacific Region and Industry Affairs for Universal Music Publishing Group. He is responsible for UMPG’s activities in Asia, Australasia, Africa and the Middle East as well as society and industry matters for the company around the world.

Prior to the acquisition of BMG Music Publishing by UMPG, he served as President of International for BMG and was responsible for signings such as the Bee Gees, Alanis Morissette, Pete Townshend, Pete Waterman, The Cure, Robert Plant, Iron Maiden, Boz Scaggs and Tom Waits.

Although based in London, Andrew is married to a beautiful and talented Australian singer songwriter who he says, “inspires him every day in every way,” and has a second home in Sydney. Not surprisingly he has close ties to the Australian music business and has signed deals for Universal Music Publishing to represent Albert Music, Eskimo Joe and Tina Arena, amongst others.

Andrew started his music business career in the record business, spending almost 12 years at Polygram. Most notably he was General Manager at Polydor Records where he worked with artists like The Bee Gees, The Cure, The Who, Freddie Mercury, Level 42, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Paul Weller, Lloyd Cole and the Commotions, Shakatak, The Wonderstuff, Cathy Dennis, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Van Morrison.

Andrew is passionate about the rights of songwriters and is happy to be working for a company where music always comes first.
